Cannabis is legal all across Canada as of October 17, 2018, and that has spurred a lot of demand for Vancouver Cannabis Tours and British Columbia Tours. In this article, we will look at how to choose your perfect weed tour experience using our booking system at BestCannabisTours.ca.
About Vancouver, BC
Vancouver, British Columbia is frequently listed in the Top 10 most beautiful cities in the world and it is a mecca for cannabis tourism. Weed is everywhere in Vancouver. In fact, prior to legalization, the City of Vancouver created their own rules and regulations for medicinal cannabis dispensaries to legally operate in the city years before there was any provincial or federal legalization. Although the city only licensed a handful of dispensaries to operate, there have been over 100 operating in Vancouver since 2015. So yes, Vancouver loves its cannabis. So much so that some people like to refer to it as Vansterdam, the Amsterdam of Canada.
In Vancouver, you will have no trouble finding a dispensary to buy weed and no shortage of cannabis-friendly establishments to visit. The first step to determining your dream Vancouver Cannabis Tours is deciding whether or not you want to have an outdoors or indoors experience. In the summer, we highly recommend getting outside and seeing the beautiful mountains, architecture, and sights that Vancouver is famous for. However, if you are visiting in the winter or spring, be prepared to get wet when going outside; it rains a lot in Vancouver during these seasons!
Vancouver Cannabis Tours Places to See
With keeping the weather in mind, let’s look at some of the top outdoor places to visit on a Vancouver Cannabis Tour…
If you are new to Vancouver, you must check out the views of the downtown city, surrounding suburbs, and the ocean from Stanley Park. You can get to Stanley Park via car, bus, bicycle or walking and there is a paved waterfront trail all around the entire park with separate bike lanes and walking lanes. BestCannabisTours.ca offers a scenic bicycle tour that takes you to a premium dispensary before heading out to see the amazing sites of Downtown Vancouver, North Vancouver, the Pacific ocean, and the coastal mountains.
One word of caution: smoking is not permitted in the park so either buy a vaporizer, eat an edible, or smoke your joints before entering the park.
Grouse Mountain is located in North Vancouver, approximately 30-minute drive from downtown. Grouse Mountain is one of three local skiing mountains close to downtown Vancouver and is the only mountain that requires a Gondola ride to get to the top. In the winter time, you can visit Grouse Mountain to do some skiing/ snowboarding, ice skating on the mountaintop pond, or backcountry snowshoeing. Although not technically allowed, I personally love a good joint with snow sports.
When visiting Grouse Mountain in the Summer, you have the option of taking the gondola ride up or if you are a fit stoner you can hike up the mountain on the Grouse Grind Trail. Note: The Grouse Grind isn’t for the faint of heart.
There is lots to do and see at Grouse Mountain when the snow is gone in the summer. There are many hiking trails, a small wildlife sanctuary with bears and other native species, restaurants and a small movie theatre showing short films on local culture or nature. Not to mention you’ll have one of the best bird’s eye views of the city, ocean and nearby islands from the top of Grouse Mountain.
Cannabis Culture Vape Lounge and New Amsterdam Café
If you’re looking for a more chill indoor experience, we highly recommend checking out the historic Cannabis Culture Vape Lounge, the head shop, and the New Amsterdam Café, all conveniently located at the same building on Hastings Street. This is the building where Marc Emery opened his first store and the whole cannabis movement began to gain steam.
At street level, there is the Cannabis Culture head shop where you can shop a variety of smoking devices, cannabis books, board games and more! Next door is the New Amsterdam Café, a cannabis-friendly café where you can smoke joints, rent bongs, and get lit while ordering coffee or food.
Above the café and head shop, you’ll find the Cannabis Culture vape lounge on the second and third floors of the building. Here you can hang out and smoke joints, rent bongs, or use the complimentary volcano vaporizers at each table. Entrance fee is $5 to the vape lounge.
